Team Doyobi - Orch V ORCH.V is a new EP of computer music, and features some hefty sonic matter with a rawer, fuzzed out sound that captures the TEAM's live performances. Eroded retro-synths, bloated bass lines and beat-shrapnel threaten to melt your cones, yet the work still retains that signature pixelated playfulness and imagination. PLASTIC VAMPIRES comes on like some sort of mecha-snubstep shot at with brass stabs and samples from an evil sorcerer mashed up in a Mantronix edit fest. SINUSOIDAL MAN takes you on a journey through a dense polyrhythmic acid dripping jungle to find the hidden temple ruins of SECTOR 7, while SKYLIGHT RED OMEGA gets out its axe for some 80's TV theme arp-rock. ORCH.V is essential listening for those already initiated in the cult of TEAM DOYOBI and for those who stumble across this record unaware; they are in for a treat!
